Hi! Welcome to His Table Is Ours. We are delighted to have you here today. Let me say, God is so wonderful. That will never run out or be dulled. He is the most precious, kind soul that exists. Many times in life, we get overwhelmed by the weight of what demands of us: work, expectations, standards, responsibilities, or the pace of the world. You may feel stressed out, tired, exhausted, fed up, and be trying to get rest, find your break, or just be. And it can feel so impossible to detach yourself from the very things leaving you in this pure exhaustion. Stress is such a detrimental, toxic, weighty force that will hurt you so much so it can actually kill you. How crazy is that? One thing I’ve noticed which hurts my heart is at how difficult and hard it is for some people to open up or be vulnerable: in response of not feeling safe or heard. Someone at some point said one too many times “I’m here for you”, “let me know if you need anything”, and yet at the very desperate vulnerable point you did and thought they would fulfill this expectation you had, they did not. Instead they ended up leaving you, who was in a desperate time of need disappointed, and much worse than you probably already felt. You probably felt helpless, like a burden, or trying not to even care anymore. Not to say it was intentional that this person did, they likely had absolutely no part of them that wanted to hurt you but actually truly help their dear friend or family. The same people who try to be/do what only God can at times will not fill, help, or mend a part of you that only God can. Not only that, but often times, people try to be that person, really they do, but are unable to due to their own unhealed pain, difficulties, or struggles. Human efforts, while well-intentioned toward you, can fall short. They try, and it not only hurt you but it also hurt them and made them feel quite disappointed in themselves likely. The aspect of this is that sometimes the very same things we go to in such a desperate vulnerable moment or time of our lives are the people who struggle with the same thing as us. Maybe it’s an addiction, a vice, a coping mechanism that you routed to after one too many times being disappointed, left, abandoned, or feeling helpless, you don’t have the audacity in the outcome or result of reaching out for help anymore. Now, doing something temporarily in the moment in what you resort to. This can and usually begins to turn into a toxic, broken, hopeless, self-dependancy. In which, you yourself can’t suffice for either. It becomes, hateful, insecure, and out of touch with yourself. This usually will be dismissed, ignored, or passed by. But how can we love anyone else as a neighbor if you don’t love yourself? (Matthew 22:39) This is a commandment. There is a time for everything under the sun as they say in Ecclesiastes (3:1-8); so here me out, I like to think about this as there is a time for personal moments or seasons with God, Prayer, intimacy. There is a time you need to get out there in community, be around people, be no where near isolation. Keeping yourself heard and surrounded. With God, you are no longer alone in any way. Coming from this pain and disappointment can be hard. But God did not save you to remain isolated and have no human support, relationship, or intimacy. You are now apart of His family which is huge. He saved not only you for this, but many many others. He equipped each and every one of us to support and help one another in Christ like manners, examples, and reflections. Picture this: You are trying to pick up a big couch and you only have two hands, yet God has surrounded you with many other sets of them. Why are you even thinking to only consider yours still? Reflect on that. God’s family will and should treat you as Christ-like as the Lord has created and molded them to. We are never perfect as Human Beings, so keep in mind with there is a time for everything under the sun because, they will not suffice for where only God still can fill. But, He does know where and what you need when you need it. He provides according to all your needs in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) So who He puts in your life, relationships, family, friends, what you need and where (What God Knows you need to be clear) will be found within it all. And in the appropriate time. If you need and want to, be so honest and Pray about specifics with the Lord. To heal the root of your past experiences, to trust that He will show up and help you find hope again so you can open up, be heard, and be who He created you to be. To show you what you faced is not wasted. There is also a time for in-between (the waiting and renewing) that deepens, saturates and basks in glory and cultivation as God’s work continues. Truly an opportunity to feel, be, appreciate and know. (Psalm 46:10) A time to consecrate, sanctify, and rest. One of the best things we could ever do is face even the what seems, feels, or looks like the worst and toughest in the best attitude, posture, and form. Because, truly, think: God wouldn’t have placed you there if you didn’t have all needed to do go through and face that very thing. Even your failures are apart of God’s sovereign plan, it may not feel or look like it, but He knew it would happen and likely needed it to for you to see, understand, heal, and grow from it. No matter where that failure falls under for you. Remember: Your relationship with God is based upon His Grace, not your performance. So next time you find yourself having it rough, struggling, or in what feels like something impossible, detrimental, or hopeless. God provides, hears, and has all you need to be so well in and through it. If it’s an addiction such as: drugs, pornography, sex, alcohol, something that is a temporary relief of distraction from the root of your longing, seeking, and broken hope. Know that God will fill that whole, show up, heal, and graciously support you in so many ways and resources. He really is so good. That addiction does not have a hold on you or a chance against God. The flesh is weak but the spirit is strong. (Matthew 26:41) And His strength overrules your mistakes and weakness every time. I previously discussed an addiction I had in You’re His Image, I recommend taking a read. That gives a well perceived perspective and truth to aid in your detrimental state or maybe season you’re in. Know that, you will not stay where you are forever and God has already sent His Son to set you free. Shame looses it’s power with honesty. So know, your addiction or pain does not define you or who you were Created to Be. God looks at you and sees His perfect, sinless, Son, Jesus. God allowed you to go through, experience, or face that very thing so that He may use it for His glory. Nothing is wasted, while it may feel or look it is. Not with God it’s not. God had a plan the entire time and nothing ever stopped it. (Romans 8:28) God’s plan is sovereign over the world’s sinful tragedies. As in, even in your failures, sin, or addiction. God’s plan will always work together. He will use the very difficulty, addiction, vice, coping mechanism, relationship you faced that breaks you to pieces for His mission. He has His work in, through, and around you and allows what you faced to glorify how God took that very thing and used it for something miraculous, useful, or necessary for His other children. Your testimony holds power, not the weakness of your thing. Your voice is a frequency and wave for declaration, life, and value, not dim, unheard, or unacknowledged. You hold purpose, not failure. Your end is good, if it isn’t good then it isn’t the end. (Philippians 1:6) You are worthy of love, grace, and true intimacy and purity. You are not shame, guilt, your past, a. mistake, failure, or something someone once said about you. You are so so special and with God He will ensure that He places you on that Hilltop for you to shine in the beauty of every single perfect and not perfect part of your incredible self. (Matthew 5:14-16) If you find yourself feeling down, sad, lifeless, or purposeless. Know that the very thing God is going to use for His glory is conformed in your purpose. He is able to save you from yourself, He is able to heal your heart, He is able to set you free, and He is able to lead and guide you in success, fulfillment, and wholeness to eternity. He knows what you need Child. The entire time, for the very long feeling amount of the time, it really felt so dead, and pointless. Yet God is never going to leave you the same way He found you, your addiction is His purpose in you. Your disappointment breaks with proof. You will live again and nothing with get in between God’s love for His Children. Your apart of His mission. While you thought it was done for you, rotting in shame, guilt, or failure and brokenness. God knew that this very thing would set the course of your very God given purpose and path of life to success, fulfillment, momentum, and eternity. How beautiful is it that God was there the whole time, working, alongside, hearing, seeing, and orchestrating. Praise God. 🤎
Pray: God, thank you for this beautiful life, astonishing purpose, and unending grace that produces the very wonder of your creation – humankind and your mission to redeem us. God, fill us with such a deep trust and understanding of purpose, value, and God given worth. Where our treasure is, there our hearts lie, so may it be within your beautiful plan for us the entire time even before you breathed breath into our lungs. Lord, thank you for the imperfections that bring God glory and pain the produces purpose. You are faithful, unfailing, and the most worthy. God, I declare a determination and confidence over my heart, mind, spirit, and soul for the purpose upon my life and pray that nothing would interfere with you receiving glory, breaking out revival, and setting captives free.
